The iPad has the tablet crown solid on Apple?s head, but for the device to seriously enter the gaming market in extremely high numbers; it will need to drop the high price tag. The hardware is already there, and graphics in games are amazing, although the device has a price that rivals that of dedicated games consoles.
The real benefits come from the cost of games via cheap apps, and even the costly apps are extremely cheap when compared to those on home systems. Airplay mirroring is pretty cool when paring an Apple TV and iPad, or iPhone/iPod touch, and while the software needs fine tuning to cut out lag at times, we see great potential here.
Apple needs to get the tablet hardware in the hands of gamers who do not have a lot of money, and would not really want to leave their favorite games system, be that an Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii. We believe the right price and package could tempt die-hard gamers to jump to tablet gaming, would you?
